FfMS Donations Policy

As the work of Folk for M.S. has developed, so too has the policy by which the monies that are raised are used. Initially the funds were distributed in approximately equal amounts between the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Action for Research into Multiple Sclerosis, (ARMS) as it was then called.
With the growing confidence that came from the level of support that the organizers received, the trustees started to look for ways in
which Folk for M.S. could 'make a difference.'   With the help of our good friend Mike Sparks MBE, we became a registered charity. Included in the charity’s objectives is the fundamental requirement that our activities are aimed at “improving the conditions of life” of multiple sclerosis sufferers. To this end, organizations providing help and support directly to M.S. sufferers were invited to submit projects for consideration. The result is that we have been able to provide help where the relative importance to the recipients is the greatest.

Our main consideration in awarding grants is to try "to make a difference". This 'selection of projects' has been our method of helping multiple sclerosis sufferers since 1998
